What are the best UCAT prep apps in 2026?

There is no single best UCAT prep app. Start with the free official UCAT Consortium resources. Then add a paid platform for a large bank, such as Medify or MedEntry. For a daily habit on your phone, UCAT Pulse is free to start, with a live Pulse Rate rating.

What to check before you pick one

  • It matches the current format. The UCAT Consortium announced that Abstract Reasoning would be withdrawn from the test in 2025, so a bank that still teaches five sections is out of date. Check the provider's page says four subtests.
  • Price model. Medify is a recurring subscription. MedEntry sells fixed-length packages. UCAT Pulse Pro is a single payment. A cheap month is not cheap if you need three.
  • Size against time. A 20,000-question bank cannot be finished in a few months. Work out how many questions you will really do before you pay for volume.
  • Whether you can try it first. Every option in the table except the paid tiers of Medify and MedEntry lets you start without paying.

Best for

  • Official UCAT Consortium resources: best for everyone's first week. They are free and written by the people who set the test. Progress is not saved and practice tests do not give you a score, so you keep your own log.
  • Medify: best for volume and mocks in one subscription. It lists 20,000+ questions, 25 full mocks, 61 study notes and analytics.
  • MedEntry: best if you want a packaged course. It lists the same 20,000+ questions, AI coaching, a study planner, and a native app on both iOS and Android.
  • Medistudents: best for a free adaptive bank to test. It offers a free Medibuddy question bank and a free practice test.
  • UCAT Pulse: best for a short daily habit on an iPhone. Ten-question sets from your weakest areas and spaced review of mistakes, for a one-off £19.99 if you want Pro. Its bank is smaller than the 20,000+ the two big platforms list, so it is not the place to look for sheer volume.

About UCAT Pulse

It has 2,774 original UCAT-style questions across the four current subtests (Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning and Situational Judgement), ten-question daily sets from your weakest areas, spaced review of your mistakes, lessons for all 18 question types, a clock on every question and an exam-style calculator. Pulse Rate is a live, chess-style rating overall and per subtest. It is free to start with no account. UCAT Pulse Pro is a one-off £19.99, with no subscription.

The name is shared with other tools. UCAT Pulse is not MedPrep's Pulse Online Platform (an Australian UCAT provider) and is not PulsePrep Tutoring.
